LADIES CHRISTMAS TEXAS SCRAMBLE

Ladies Christmas Competition

Despite sub-zero temperatures and foggy conditions, the ladies donned their Christmas jumpers, woolly hats and festive attire to compete in the Annual Christmas Competition.

42 ladies took to the course in an attempt to swing their clubs with no feel in their fingers and wearing too many layers to hit the ball with any accuracy but with much hilarity and joviality. The competition, a Texas Scramble, saw the first group out make it as far as the 14th before the klaxon was sounded and the course closed for the rest of the day.

The majority of players made it to the halfway house and remained there enjoying mugs of mulled wine and coffee with Baileys along with mince pies, brandy truffles (hand made by Helen H) and other festive goodies served by Anne, Sara and Chris.

The ladies returned to the clubhouse to continue the festivities and the competition organisers decided to draw the winners from submitted cards.

All in all a jolly fun day!

Message from Anne:

A huge thank you to Burghley ladies, my last competition as Ladies Captain and you didn’t disappoint me.

I look forward to celebrating my year in style at my dinner on Friday 8th December.  So get your best outfit  on and let’s have a party.
