Last night saw the end of season dinner for the Ladies Handicap League teams. As you may know, Burghley has three teams in the county league and the success of the teams continues! The A team retained it’s place in Division 1 following promotion last year - a very good result. The B team won promotion from Division 4 to Division 3 with a remarkable unbeaten record. Congratulations went to Penny Campbell who had the best performance of the year, winning all the matches she played. Keep it up Pen! The C team will remain in Division 6 following some very tough matches. Our thanks go to the team captains and vice captains who do a great job arranging matches, whipping us into shape and herding us on the day! A team captain Sandy Bushby is standing down this year and Gail Hunt is stepping up - well done Gail! Sue Churchill will remain as vice. Jane Saggers and Mel Griffiths will continue as Captain and Vice of the B team. Jan Devlin and Chris Taylor are standing down from the C team but Lynn Collen and Elaine Brown will take over. The team squads pass on our thanks and best wishes to you all. We had a great evening with good food, plenty of celebratory wine and CJ’s ever present mobile disco! Well done Burghley Ladies.
