TUESDAY LADIES, PUTTS, CAKE AND A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.

On a very hot Tuesday morning over thirty ladies gathered to play. But it was no ordinary day as it was the 80th Birthday of Elspeth Irvine.  Apart from the players quite a few old friends and family came to celebrate Elspeth's special day. Cake and Prosecco was served and  a beautiful basket of flowers, created by Maggie Friend, was presented to Elspeth. It was lovely to see the clubhouse filled with lots of ladies.

the teams of Sara & Janet F and Lynn and Barbara were neck and neck all

the way round and could have gone either way. The former team lost on the

CAPTAIN'S AWAY TRIP UPDATE

In the rolling greens, where the fairways sway,

There's a group of ladies, ready to play,

They gather at Draycote, a golfing retreat,

For three rounds of golf (or two), where their skills will meet.

Karen, lady captain, with a heart so bold,

Guiding her team, as the story unfolds,

With her trusty driver, she tees off with pride,

Inspiring her ladies, side by side.

They sip from the drinks buggy, laughter fills the air,

Sharing stories and jokes, without a single care,

Each lady brings her style, a unique flair,

From powerful drives to putts with care,

They conquer the challenges, with every swing,

Creating memories that forever will cling.

Pay it up by month’s end, a breeze, (31st July),

Or let your card handle it with ease. (1st August)

Double the fun, a room for two,

£218, a bargain through and through.

Solo adventure, a peaceful stay,

£258, a worthy pay.

Note: These prices are for those who have already paid a deposit. If you haven’t, please be aware that the cost will increase by £35 for both double and single rooms.

BURGHLEY C TEAM SPARKLES AT SPALDING

Bev Harpham, Sara Harris, Mary Gates, Anne Harrison Smith, Karen Collins, NatalieJones Lynn Collen and Joan Hickman were the members of the C Team that played their away match at Spalding in hot and sticky weather today. However, they were not going to let the heat, a five hour round and slow greens get in the way of 2 wins, a half and 1 loss.

A great achievement for the Burghley C’s who were in fact playing the Spalding B’s. Bring on the home match!!!

'A' TEAM BATTLE AT BELTON PARK

Jo Bell, Carol Johnson, Gail Hunt, Kay Hircock,
Michelle Powell, Jane Carney, Sandy Bushby, Sue Churchill

The A Team played Belton Park away today, in fairly cold, windy , drizzly conditions- not exactly a summers day. Sandy & Sue , our first pair win their match, but we lost the other 3 closely contested matches.  Their rough was very punishing and swallowed quite a few balls ( mostly Gail’s!) !!!
