JANET HITS THE REGIONAL JACKPOT AND COMES 6TH!!
Our very own Janet (hit it far ) Farrington, came 6th today out of a field of 60 ladies at Stoke Rochford GC Regional Qualifying round in the Race to Woodhall Spa Final. She won the place at the end of last year for having posted the 4 best EGU Competition scores at BPGC. Not only has she come 6th but according to the rules, this should mean that she has qualified for the Final to be played on the Hotchkin at Woodhall Spa on Aug 14th (subject to final written confirmation). The top 3 ladies and mens scores from that go onto Portugal (Janet is booking her flight as I write !!). Stoke Rochford had done a magnificent job of presenting the course including ironing the greens last night after Janet's sneaky very early practice round yesterday morning (without her caddy!!). The first two holes were a shock for all 3 players in the group but Janet was quick to find the right pace and made several pars along the way and some great 2/3 m putts back when she got a bit carried away!! She even listened to her caddy (once in a while) and remained in 2nd place until the last 10 ladies posted at 5pm-it was a nail biting wait from finishing her round at 1.30pm to the last result at gone 6pm. It was an absolute pleasure to watch her course management and to see her putt on green speeds only found abroad. Huge well done, we are all very proud.

THE A TEAM MANAGE A WIN AT HOME
Today the A Team played their opening league match against Belton Park. Sadly, Team Captain Gail Hunt was unable to play due to injury but called up super sub Carol Johnson. The team managed a two and a half to one and a half victory. The course was well presented and enjoyed by the visitors.
